it was you, in my mind, on the way home.
and there i was, thinking i didnt have a shot
i was dumb for ages, wishing i could stay home.
stupid me, thinking that you couldnt see it
beer in hand, i didnt question the outcome
and there it was. right before me all along
nothing could go wrong, i heard my favorite song
and i was sailing through the night
hoping that this ended all right
i had waited long enough
i still couldnt talk
this was getting stupid
but i was not about to lose you
there’s me at 23 doing something
scraping by on nothing
a party here, a show there is there really anywhere, i can go from here
but there’s you, next to me, all along
dancing with me at home to our favorite songs
its ok, to be lame, even if each days the same
if we're satisfied doesnt that count for something
i had waited long enough
i still couldnt talk
this was getting stupid
but i was not about to lose you

I desperately needed something intoxicating and cathartic and this is just what the doctor ordered. Catchy melodies slathered deep in fuzz. Ralph Gonzalez

Me & Magdalena has always been a favourite RPP cover for me. Evocative of a dusty road movie, with distant state lines, sunsets, canyons and oceans; a glorious song about love, memories, loss, regrets and the tantalising, unknown possibilities and pleasures of the future. And I love the LDR cover, too! A sensual, fabulous collection of covers. Thanks, Glenn. broseleyimp
